Arthur Plays with . . . Flame of The Forest FLAME OF THE FOREST (FOTF) is an eclectic instrumental world music band of six, comprising of Krsna Tan (Sitar), Govin Tan (Tabla Kit), Jeffrey Tan (Violin), Caleb Koa (Keyboard), Andy Chong (Electric Guitar) & Arthur Adika Wiyono (Electric Bass). The band’s diverse musical background has contributed to the development of an expansive musical palette and a smooth blend of instruments that create a unique sound with universal appeal. FOTF hopes to widen listeners’ perspectives on world music through their musical alchemy and share their music on stages across the globe. “Trends change, but good music lasts decades, and shaping the world is all about making a little noise.” - FOTF 2017 Namie and The Waves NAMIE AND THE WAVES is a five-piece indie jazz band formed in mid-2018. It all started as four session musicians come together to record Namie Rasman's EP Notes in 2017. The musicians were Ting Wei Yap on drums, Arthur Adika Wiyono on electric and upright bass, Andy Chong on guitars, and Namie Rasman on vocals. Since then, the band grew into quintet Namie & The Waves, adding Ann Gie on keyboards. The band's music is heavily influenced by jazz and RnB music. Namie Rasman speaks about life and worldly affairs in her compositions and The Waves brings the compositions to life. Through the music, the collective aims to express themselves, constantly improvising in jazz language they commonly speak. Adapted from Esplanade Website. The Jazz Djogets THE JAZZ DJOGETS (TJD) is a Singapore based all-star, power-kampong septet who plays whatever they find extremely groovy - a diverse blend of undiscovered hits from the 50's-70's inspired by Jazz, Funk, Soul, Disco, Malay Pop Yeh Yeh, Japanese Enka, City Pop, Dangdut and some of the most wrongly appropriated songs ever produced. On top of recreating songs into whatever they find groovy and djogetable (danceable), their original songs are poisonously catchy, you simply cannot get them out of your head. Since their inception in 2017, they have already broken down and blurred the musical barriers by creating crazy new style while growing into a fixture at Singapore’s live circuit for its so called ‘cross-cultural appeal’, having been featured on the lineup for Neon Lights Festival 2018, Pesta Raya 2019 and on Warna 94.2FM and Ria 89.7FM . Come to The Jazz Djogets Show for a high-quality, organised mess with jaw-dropping musicianship, painstaking mash-ups and plenty of musical accidents. All groovy, because Jazz Boleh Djoget! Lil' New Stream \\ New Stream Brass Band NEW STREAM BRASS BAND (NSBB) is the first-ever Singapore-based New Orleans style brass band that blends jazz, funk, latin and hip-hop styles with traditional New Orleans brass sounds. New Orleans brass bands are most famous for their "Second Line" parades, part of the city's rich cultural heritage. The band was founded in June 2014 by Yohei (Snare drum) and Eriko (Trombone), who have been to New Orleans frequently, where they played with local musicians for gigs, street performances and Second Lines. NSBB pursues an authentic New Orleans sound, adding tastes of steady chart hits from artists like Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Bruno Mars etc. It is a unique band form, consisting of separate Bass and Snare drums, Washboard, Sousaphone as bass, and lead horns – Trumpet and Trombone that allow for an unplugged yet vibrant sound. NSBB excels at roving performance as well as ceremonial functions such as weddings, birthdays and launches. Adapted from New Stream Brass Band Website. Show Dates
